The unique event will celebrate the food, fashion, architecture, design and culture of one of the most popular regions in all the world: The American South
Priscilla Presley will host an Elegant Southern Style Weekend at Graceland September 27-29, 2019, a unique celebration of The American South. Priscilla will be joined by premiere chefs, designers, event planners and lifestyle experts who will show guests how to incorporate the magical Southern culture into their own style. The weekend will feature informative and inspirational seminars, lively, one-of-a-kind parties and events, experiential hands-on workshops, delicious food and more – all at one of the most elegant and iconic destinations in the world: Graceland.
“The years I spent living at Graceland are among the most memorable in my life,” noted Priscilla. “There are so many reasons I love Memphis and the entire Southern region of the United States. It’s the food, gorgeous homes and gardens, it’s the unique combination of style and substance. And, for sure, it’s the people. There’s just nothing like the warmth of a Southerner. I’m really excited to celebrate Southern Style at Graceland with our amazing line-up of speakers and events.”
During the three-day weekend guests will have the opportunity to see, learn and do from special guests at five seminars covering topics such as Southern Hospitality & Entertaining; Outdoor Living: Home & Garden; Southern Décor & Architecture; Home Cooking: Southern Style; and Head-to-Toe Southern Fashion. Each engaging conversation will include multiple experts, demonstrations rich with visuals, tips and tricks, and the opportunity for guests to ask Priscilla and the panelists questions. The weekend also features multiple dinners and parties, food and cocktail tastings, crafting workshops and The Style of Graceland Show, where Priscilla and Graceland’s Head of Archives, Angie Marchese, will provide rare insight into the design of the iconic home.
Special guests announced to date include award-winning Chef Kelly English, owner of the wildly popular Restaurant Iris; motivational speaker and lifestyle expert Leigh Anne Tuohy, the real-life inspiration behind the movie “The Blind Side”; America’s first Bridal Couture Designer Pat Kerr, whose private collection of antique laces and royal gowns have been featured in Kensington Palace for the last five years; Sid and Ann Mashburn, who blended their respective careers as fashion designers for J. Crew, Ralph Lauren and Tommy Hilfiger and assistant editor posts at Vogue and Glamour, to form one of the most successful Southern-based clothing companies; event planner Troy Williams, whose company Simply Troy has been named one of the top event and wedding planners in the world by Harper’s Bazaar and Brides Magazines; Janie Bryant, an Emmy® Award winning costume designer known for her designs on TV’s “Mad Men” and HBO’s “Deadwood” and has been cited as influencing designers Michael Kors, Vera Wang, Prada, Marc Jacobs and others; Zoe Gowan, Senior Homes Editor at Southern Living Magazine, Tennessee chef, lifestyle and entertaining expert Jim Norton, and Hal Lansky, President of Lansky Bros.
